New Delhi (Daily Pakistan Online) The Indian Supreme Court will hear the judgment on the Babri Masjid case tomorrow (Saturday), before the Indian Supreme Court reserved the decision on the case regarding the dispute between Babri Masjid and Ram Janmabhoomi. The verdict will be pronounced before November 17, but now the verdict is coming on Saturday. Chief Justice of the Indian Supreme Court Rangan Gogoi will announce the case, Indian Chief Justice has also met with senior officials of Uttar Pradesh on security situation.
According to media reports, hundreds of people have already been detained by police in Ayodhya in view of worsening security situation. Authorities are concerned that the verdict could lead to sectarian riots. According to the Times of India Times, a five-member bench headed by Chief Justice Rangan Gogoi of the Supreme Court addressed the arguments within three days. It was the second longest case in the history of India with 40 hearings after which the Supreme Court of India reserved the decision. Earlier, the case related to the Babri Masjid was reserved. At the hearing, the chief justice gave further respite to the arguments made by the Hindu Mahasabha Party in the Indian Supreme Court. The air petition was rejected. The Chief Justice of India was the head of the five-member bench of the case for decades, deciding whether the Ram temple should be built instead of the Babri Masjid.
The Babri Masjid, named after the Mughal king Zaheer-ud-din Muhammad Babar, was erected by a local army commander in Ayodhya in 1545. An earlier temple was demolished and erected in its place. They believe that Bhagwan Ram was born at the site of the Babri Masjid and therefore the land belonging to the mosque is owned by the temple. This dispute was in the nineteenth century. The rule of the British had come to the fore, but for the first time this case was presented to the court of the Commissioner of Faizabad in 1889. At that time, the Commissioner rejected the claim of the Hindu property on the mosque and its premises. One night after Independence, on the night of December 19th, the statue of Bhagwan Ram was placed at the bottom of the dome between the Babri Masjid. After which the tension increased and the mosque was locked in this environment and the prayer was banned there. Local Muslims lodged a report with the police against the incident and demanded the removal of the statue, and the Hindus also filed a case for ownership of the mosque land.
